The anti-phishing alliance of China has successfully held the annual meeting in Beijing on December 5, 2012

December 5, 2012, the 2012 anti-phishingAlliance(APAC) annual meeting was successfully held in Beijing. Representatives from Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team Coordination Center, including representatives from APAC members, the Internet and legal experts,totally more than 200 people attended the annual meeting, the Vice-Chairman of the international Anti-phishing Working group (APWG) Foy Shiver was also invited to attend the annual meeting for the first time.

At the meeting, the institution of the Secretariat of the League of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the “Report on the work of the Anti-Phishing Alliance of China in 2012”. "Report" shows that, as of November 20, 2012, the Alliance has been accumulated to identify and deal with 100,402 phishing sites, from January 2012 to November, totally 24,535 phishing sites have been dissolved, shown a decrease of 33% compared to the same period in 2011. The report pointed out that in the complaints received by APAC, phishing sites are always focusing on distribution of the 3 types of industry, including trading and financial securities, media communication such as online log, and paid sites, accounted for 94.61% of the total detected phishing sites, indicating an urgent need of Internet users attention. The data clearly show that e-commerce sites are impacted the most. It is the "hardest hit" reaching more than 60 percent of the total volume handled.

Since APAC was established in July 2008, the number of members of the alliance has grown from 40 in the original development to 492 in 2012, the phishing sites reported by the alliance members accounted for 81.75% of the total reported number of phishing sites , Alliance members has played a significant role in the promoting against phishing work.

Through more than four years of coordinating with different organizations and partners, the phishing sites fast handling process mechanism became more mature. From 2012, APAC developed a double detection and filtering process for the reported phishing sites, filtering the obsoleted sites in order to further optimize the processing efficiency. At the same time, the Alliance actively try to apply heuristic feature detection, pattern recognition and a variety of methods to detect and to further improve the processing efficiency, expand the scope of acceptance. APAC admissibility phishing sites range doubled over last year by the initially limited to the site cn domain, and then extended to include com,net, org,info, etc. 80Ikind oftop-level domainphishing sitesreported.

Phishing sites has become a worldwide network security threats facing the global Internet industry. It is an urgent need to solve the problem. Annual meeting, for the first time invited the International Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) Vice Chairman Foy Shiver to attend and share phishing websites from around the world and the Asia-Pacific region with the network security situation as well as the experience and technology of handling phishing sites.
